CHEVRON - Frade Project
GSI Brooks performed an environmental diagnosis of the Frade Field in Campos Basin, during the exploration phase of CHEVRON OIL BRAZIL, supported by C&C Technologies Brazil. The collected data had been used to characterize the benthos fauna, grainulations and concentrations of metals and hydro-carbons within the Slope and Brazilian Continental Shelf. The results given to CHEVRON were essential to compose the environmental diagnosis presented to the “Environmental Licensing of Nuclear Activity of the Oil Agency” and to IBAMA (Brazilian Environmental agency) to design the pathway for installation of the draining pipeline in Frade field.

PETROBRAS - Oceanic and Coastal Environmental Monitoring Project
The state of art of environmental studies in Brazil evoluate to petroleum and industrial impact assessment. The Oceanic and Coastal Environment Monitoring Program of PETROBRAS was developed to collect water and sediment samples such as Metals, Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon and Aromatic Hydrocarbons, n-Alkenes, Phenols, pH, Dissolved Oxygen, Nutrients, Benthos Communities and Plankton Structure in the exploration and production areas. Although the environment studies was completed with the current data acquisition with ADCP and chemical measurements with CTD Rosette.

The main areas of monitoring was:

  • Production Areas of Campos Basin;
  • Drilling blocks at Santos Basin;
  • Production area of Espírito Santo Basin;
  • Campos Basin Impact Assessment Project.
